Checking my funky-fresh, super-sweet subaruforester.? calander ( 8) ), I see that the first weekend in May is the 6-7th. :D
Y'all know what that means!!! Time to get the ball rolling.

This will now be a joint venture between subaruforester.? and offroadsubarus.com as there are some ORS.com members in the area who drive non-foresters. However, I'm thinking follow the same May meet format and keeping the meet in Pisgah and the off-road to the gravel roads with a pavement option so that none is left out. :D

Of course, I'd like to get y'alls input.
Edit: May 6th to April 29th.

I gather then that the answer is yes.
On my map it shows all the roads you listed as National Forest Road.
You have to zoom in and then it gives the FR#.

After we leave you folks and go to GSMNP I'm also planning on driving the gravel road across the east side of the park (parallel to I-40) as well as the other obligatory tourist spots around the cove area.

I guess I'd better wax up the Sube real good this weekend so I can clean her off easily when we get back.

Carl: You will have a PM shortly.
I found this for finding those 5000 series roads: http://www.cs.unca.edu/nfsnc/roads/nantahala_roads.pdf
Alrighty then!!! One week to go. Remember, Sycamore Flats Picnic area 10:00am (not the visitors center), it is signed well and on the left side of the road before you get to the visitors center.

I'm bringing my GMRS walkie-talkies, if anybody else has some, bring them along. If you do, lets figure out a channel and privacy code, I'm staying on ch. 8-14 for now (no licence:icon_frown:). I have everyones contact #'s, and I believe everyone has mine, if not let me know.

:drive:
Just out of curiosity, what are the gas prices like up there right now.
I'm budgeting this trip @ $3.50/gal @ 20/mpg as a worst case scenario.
This might be our last vacation road trip for a while. :frown:
We are at $3.09 a gallon for 93 here in the central part of the state. I'll bet Carl is paying the same or just a bit higher, what do you say Carl? Is it $3.19 pg in Asheville yet?

Have also seen, a slight chance of showers (weather.com), but you can never tell around here. Like I always say 'if it rains, we get wet'.

Paging Jason.

If you need a place to crash we'll be in Cashiers, NC that weekend and have plenty of extra space. :bigok:
Just to let you guys know, there is a HUGE Subaru event taking place at Fontana Village on Memorial Day weekend.

hey all,
me and the woman will not be able to make it to the meet... i know i know!!! sorry maybe the next one. got the car fixed but now there are no funds to put towards the trip.
Welp, for some reason unknown forces are trying to keep us from making this years spring meet. I have been dealing with sickness this week and I am hoping to be %100 in a few days. Carl, right now I am not sure that we will make it Friday but I am hoping we can leave out Saturday morning at the latest. I am really hoping I will feel better by Thursday. So far this year I have been sick more times than normal. Stomach viruses have run through our family at least 3 times now not to mention the headaches and colds. Man, I am sick of being sick. I really haven't felt that good since December 05. I will let you guys know something by Thursday.
yelnats_j: Lysol or disinfect the house & car.
It sounds like whatever is "bugging" you is still lurking around waiting for your immune system to become vulnerable again.
Without sounding too steryotypical, eat lots of chicken soup. ;-)
Hope you feel better.
Out the door, down (or up) the road.
Our trip already involves a detour as there are 600 acres of brush burning in Brevard County and I-95 is closed in the area as a result.
See you all this weekend.
We are really sorry folks but we will be unable to make this meet. We have to work this weekend.
There is a pre demolition inspection on our house project Monday.

We have to prepare for it this weekend.
This is what we are up against.

Have fun and a safe one yall
Sorry we missed you guys but Benji and myself hope you had some fun for us.
I just didn't feel up to making the drive. I have felt like crap pretty much all day today. I sure hope my body heels itself soon or the doc finds a cure for my ailment. Anyway, I sure hate we had to ditch you guys on such a nice day but I hope it was enjoyable where you are at.
