ok i dont know if i am going to be making the meet. my clutch is done and the parts are ordered but i got an email today telling me that the parts are backordered 3-4 weeks. so that puts me getting the parts pretty close to the meet. if i can get everything together by then im 85% sure im comming but it all depends on the clutch.

Make it to the meet or not, we're all pulling (and, hopefully your clutch) for you. This is an on-going bi-annual meet, usually the first weekend in May, and again, sometime in the fall (off-road edition, however, all are welcome), so whenever you can make it we are here.

Good luck with the clutch, hope to meet you soon.

Update: I definitely won't be able to make it this April. Friends of ours will be visiting from Seattle. Sorry. :\

The September meet should be a better bet -- provided it doesn't coincide with our trip to Europe, planned around my little sister's Sept. 9 wedding reception.

By September, Carl's new house will be all set up for BBQ, my SubaXtreme bash plate will be installed, and I will hopefully have managed some off-road practice out in the Shenandoah/West Virginia.

:( We'll miss you, but hopefully you can make it down in the fall. Thanks for the update.

Make sure to well document any West Virginia adventures, I really want to make it up there sometime to do some exploring.

Hi, folks. Nice to see that you are all still having fun. I am making good use of my Subaru, having moved from Virginia to Minnesota of all places to take a new job. I interviewed for the job just before Christmas and started work in January 2006. The winter that just ended was mild here compared to past years, so it was a good time to ease into Minnesota life.

I'm sure you wouldn't be surprised to know that my Subaru is performing great on the snow and ice here. I'm especially glad that I bought the model that had the all-weather package: limited slip differential, electric wiper defroster, heated side mirrors, and heated seats. Toasty!

Don't think I'll be making trips to Pisgah - that's a looong ways from here. :icon_frown: But raise a glass for me at your next meet, and have fun.

Howdy Wayne,

Yeah, I guess MN to NC would be a bit of a drive for you, we'll miss you, but we'll give you a toast.

Hope all is well for you up there, and the new job has made the move worth while.

Bummer. But if there are any upcoming a tad closer im in!

I don't think this meet will move any closer too you, but it has been on going, once in the spring and once in the fall for two years now (this will be year three ), so if/when you can ever make it down here we'd love to have you.

Boca, what time do you think you'll make it in Fri.???

We'll probably hit the road around midnight Friday morning & head up I-95 & I-26.
With a breakfast stop, we'll arrive around noonish.
However, don't expect us to be too functional until Sat morning.
12 hours of driving makes me ga-ga. :icon_frown:

That little Mexican place was pretty good.............are you and Laurie up for that again?
We are going to head out Friday morning so I expect we will be there around 2-3pm. It's just 4 weeks away and we are gonna make it this time.......knock on wood. I am definately looking forward to it and I hope we have a good turn out.
I am working on a shift knob project for Richard and I hope to be bringing that along. I would love to have some goodies to hand out but it seems like everyone has everything I could possibly make at this time. I have some delrin shifter bushings if anyone wants to sample a pair. I will bring along all that I have.
I am counting the days.

Two weeks from now we will be on our way.
Carl, do you have a time frame for eating that night?
We will need to meet somewhere or I will need some good directions to get back to the restaurant because I don't think I remember exactly where we were.

One week left!
I've been looking over the area with my topo map software.
There are some nice grades!
Is the "National Forest Road" open to the public?
Damn! I'm starting to drool again.

WhooHoo!!! Coming up quick.

Not sure which "National Forest Road" your refering too:think:, I can tell you that we will be driving Forest Roads 477, 1206, 5000, & 479, see if you can get those up on your topo maps.

Is everybody going to drive the gravel??? I've got most, but not quite all of a tarmac route which would land us all in the NC Arboretum at about the same time.
