Hoping to buy a Forester shortly but in the lead up to this a small point arose which I wonder if someone might be able to clarify.
Can a vehicle be registered in joint names? It's my understanding the registered owner is whoever has a legally enforceable claim to the car. The registered keeper on the other hand is whoevers name is on the registration documents and is responsible for its upkeep etc.
Is there any reason why a car couldn't be registered in joint owners (say husband/wife as opposed to business partners) or is it simply easier to have it registered in one name ie the main drivers, to save creating problems when it comes to insurance?
