How many of you Autocross your Foresters? I've done the 1/4 mile thing and it was great fun. I was introduced to Autocross about 9 months ago and loved it even more!

For those of you who do put your Foresters through the cones, how well do you do in your class? what class(es) do you compete in? What are your mods?

I currently am competing in ESP alongside the STis, WRXs, some Mustangs/Impalas, Golf R32s and others. The best I ever did was a 3rd place finish. Most of the people in ESP here use race rubber. My goal is to beat those guys while still on street rubber. I usually place around 4th in class.

Why ESP and not SM class?

I might do one or two autoXs when I get my XT....if the Impreza is down for work. :?

My wagn will hit the tarmac for the first time in two weeks. I'll be in STU with an average of two dozen other STU entrants. Several are national level drivers and cars. My goal initially is to be in the top ten, I'm not trophy hunting. My suspension setup is a dream with only the brakes done so far (goodrich ss, hps pads, speedbleeders and ate blue fluid), but I've purchased a Strano 32mm front bar, Cobb 25mm rear bar, PolTec box endlinks, 17x7.5 rims w/ 225.17.45 Falken ST615's. I've yet to purchase coilovers but will probably get MeganRacing w/ 7/5 springs. No engine mods.

SM and ESP on street tires is no fun. DS is the other option and if well prepped, you might have a chance depending on the competition (330's and TypeR's).

I suspect most of us need a daily driver and won't be going all out on spring rates. Time will tell if the Cobb AP is legal or not for STU/X.

There is a thread on suspension setups, let's all discuss.

Started myself around April 05.
Have been progessively modding ever since.
So far it has been STU only.

I am debating ESP without Race tires.

In my last event, I would have taken 1st by .025 in ESP. Otherwise, I placed 12 out of 18 in STU. We have some amazing talent in STU in So Cal.

The latest changes were my brake pads, Hawk HPS, and the tires and wheels. Rota Slips, Falken 615s. See link on our team web site. Last picture in the first post.

I don't have any engine management or have messed w/my boost.

Mods:

USDM STi suspension
STi rear swaybar
STI replica F/R strut tower bars
PDE downpipe
Borla Hush catback
17" BBS STi wheels/Bridgestone Potenza RE070s

I talked to the officials here and although I'd usually be in STU, there are no people here who run in that class. We needed at least 3 people to have it.

I'd rather be in ESP where the competition is pretty fierce. about 5 people run within 1 second of each other while the rest are not far behind.

Running in ESP this year. I should be pretty competitive since the STi and EVO have been reclassed to BSP. Need some wider rubber like 245 R-compound. The 225's don't cut it...

People know the car and smile when they see Moose flying through the slalom. I'm the only one here in the SF region auto-x'ing. They think it's cool to see a car like the Forester move like that.

ran a wrx for 2 years in DS and now i'm still in DS with a FXT. :D the best part is i'm beating the wrxs. Only mod is a COBB cat back from my wrx that i fit on the FXT. Not running R compounds cause they cost too much. instead, bought Eagle F1s.

Also if this doesn't appear correctly. you can go to my club site to verify. www.scscc.net and look for the 9/25/05 race results. My 52.332 was faster than a Z06 and three vipers.
I JUST LOVE HAVING A SLEEPER!
