I have an 04fxt 5MT with a rear diiff thats starting to wear out - mild but unpleasant grinding noises on deceleration mainly in 3rd and 4th as the rpm drops.
Cost of a new diff and removing the better part of the driveline is gunna get into a price range im not keen to explore since im prob gunna move to a new vehicle in the spring.
Im going to do a rear diff fluid replace, but was wondering if there would be any benefit to moving to a thicker than 75w90 synthetic gear oil in the rear end?

running redline 75w90 presently, last changed 12 months ago.
