Hey Guys, I have a 98 S with the factory alarm system.

My alarm seems to be randomly chirping after being disarmed. 3 chirps with lights flashing, sometimes it repeats a few times. This occurs while driving the car, sometimes after it's been driven for over an hour. It has also gone for days without a problem.

After searching the forums, it seems like a dying battery or dirty terminals could be the culprit. Does that make sense? Are there any other possibilities?

I haven't driven the car while I've been away, but my family says it's a new problem that may have started after the car was inspected here in New York. Maybe a wire was pulled under the dash when they hooked up to the computer? The red light still seems to be functioning normally.

Thanks

Hello,

I recently have been having the same problem (while driving the alarm would arm/disarm). This just started yesterday. Did you ever find a solution? I'm going to try and reset the alarm today, and have the battery checked out.
