Do you think I could remove the glass without breaking it?
I've been wanting to paint my mirrors black and that would simplify the process.
BTW, how much is replacement mirror glass?

Thanks, that’s what I thought.
Removing the glass would allow for a better paint job. So I guess I'll just have to mask it off as I had originally planned.

I've taken loads of mirror glass out, without breaking, by pouring some hot water over the glass. It heats up the black backing plate, making it more flexible. Then using a credit card you can get between the glass and backing plate, to remove the whole thing.
