Hello, just recently I went to turn on my air conditioner and nothing happened. I get air blowing, but I never hear or feel the a/c engaging. I checked the fuse on the inside and there was also a black fuse box in the engine that had a switch that I changed out , still nothing. Is there something I'm missing , do the a/c switches on the dash that trigger the a/c to come on go bad in these cars?

i haven't done it on a subaru but you should be able to disconnect the wire to the A/C clutch and connect it manually with a (fused) jumper wire to the battery. if it engages then you have a problem in the control system.

the other thing is most systems won't engage if the pressure is too low due to a leak. usually you would notice rapid cycling and slow loss of cooling ability with something like that (slow refrigerant leak), unless some damage led to rapid loss of refrigerant.
