Sounds like you "professional" installer didn't get everything plugged back together. I'd head back to them and complain about it.
Aftermarket Radion install, no HVAC illumination
Recently had a pioneer digital media player installed professionally. The first night I drove the car, I realized that I had no illumination of my HVAC dials, also there is no dimmer control on the MPG and clock display. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with this.

Or they blew one of the fuses for the illumination/dimmer circuits.
Fuses
Mine is controlled by fuse #16 under the dash which gets power through fuse #15 under the hood, whenever the tail lights are on.
I don't recall the MPG or clock being on the adjustable dimmer circuit.
