I've done the searching and maybe I've just not fund the right magical search string.

A coworker showed me his Kenwood integration with the vehicle CAN bus on his Jeep. He could see things like fuel mileage and I suppose if it was a turbo vehicle, he coudl see boost as well. Anyway, this was pretty slick and I thought I'd like to have that in my '05 FXT. Radio brand isn't as important and I don't need to use a Maestro, that's just the solution he had.

So my question is, has anyone found a similar kind of solution for the '05 FXT that will allow a aftermarket radio to interface with the OBD2 signals on the vehicle? I know these cars have those signals because I've used my laptop to monitor them. Is there some other solution that lets us get that stuff into a radio?

Might not be exactly what you are looking for, but i think you can just get a cheap BT OBDII adapter like this:

Amazon link

And pair it with an android auto head unit.

Might also be able to go with something like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Auto-16-Pin-Male-to-Female-OBD2-Extension-Cable-Diagnostic-Adapter-For-elm327/152700822059 and this https://www.ebay.com/itm/V1-5-USB-Interface-ELM327-OBDII-OBD2-Car-Scanner-Diagnostic-Auto-Scan-Tool-Cable-/163367305233?oid=112070132071 and just connect it through usb.

Might need a plugin like this:

I don't have a fancy head unit, so i still just use that BT adapter and my phone.
