I'm hoping it's mostly the active membership from the other site. I welcome the new members, but would like them active. We're going to prune the database as needed for those who don't post.

Roo, whilst I can understand why you encourage people to post some of us have little knowledge wrt the Forester and use this site to learn by reading.

There is so much knowledge in here that it is overwhelming at times.

I post now and then but most of my time is spent reading and learning.

Cheers

At least you post, and ask questions. I was weeding out members who had joined, and hadn't posted in a year. Right now we have the setup for registered members only, but that will be changing when we bring the vBulletin site up shortly.

I just like to know that the membership is an active community, not simply a bunch of people who join, then never come back to the site again.
Ah, fair enough.

I must admit we have user redundancy systems for much of our CRM software in the company

We force users who have not used software for a pre determined length of time into a holding status.

If they wish to use the software again they have to undertake training and request access again. We do hold their data though so they don't lose anything.

Cheers

...and some of us are just new.

Just bought a Forester (my first) less than a month ago and found the old site while researching Subbies (love to find a vehicle and an active group supporting it). Still busy mod'ing the bike so will likely read much more than post until I start mod'ing the car (only so much time an $'s to go around).

We don't prune contributing members.

:D
I'm thinkin' 1000 members by next weekend (21-22 Jan).

The other thing I've noticed is that there seems to be a lot more activity here in SF.org than there was in SF.com I see 20-30 members signed on on a regular basis, where 5-15 was a good average for the old site. Maybe this'll drop off after the newness wears off...but maybe not. :D
Glad you got it fixed and back up again -- I was starting to suffer withdrawl pains.

Without the "old" threads I wait with baited breath for the 5000 posts about synthetic vs "real" oil.

Well I better get on with it, then! :D
