My parents may buy a Forester tomorrow. From the Forrester I bought three years ago, I paid 2% under invoice, which worked out to be around 8.5% off of the MSRP. I then had to pay tax on top of that. Anyway, does anyone know if my formula is somewhat accurate? We’re just after a fair deal, it doesn’t need to be killer. $31,000 ish would be about the sticker price for the ‘19 I’m guessing. Thanks!

Probably some after-xmas bargaining room if you wait until the last days of Dec. End of the month is always better if you can find a dealer who needs to fill a quota. Good luck!

how much should I expect to get off of msrp for a cash deal
Cash deals mean nothing. They'd really rather you finance as they make more money that way. Whether you pay cash or finance, your deal will not change. You should be able to get $1500-$2000 off of INVOICE, which may be $3500-$4000 off MSRP (or about 10%+ based on trim level), regardless so push for that.
