I think it is, and my research tells me that it is, but just double checking. Can anyone confirm?

Kind of related... does it matter if the 4.44 came from a 4EAT or 5MT, or can we just swap without concern? My research says no, but I just wanted a confirmation.

Here's some info I compiled a few months ago:
NOTE: This info only applies to the SG generation (for now)

Ok, the info is strewn all around so let me try to collect the stuff I need..

In regards to our rear diffs, tranmissions, part numbers and ratios... (please correct me!)

-Opposedforces lists for the XTs (4EAT-LSD):

Differential assembly-rear 1
27011AA541
4.444 VISCOUS LSD
'03, January — '04, March
4.444 VISCOUS LSD
'03, December — '05, March

27011AA730
4.111 VISCOUS LSD
'05, January — '06, March
4.111 VISCOUS LSD
'06, February — '07, March
4.111 VISCOUS LSD
'07, February — '07, November

-4EAT XS, which also has a LSD rear diff, utilizes the earlier LSD PN, 27011AA541.

-5MT XTs also seem to be using 27011AA541.

-5MT XSs, on the other hand, use 27011AA730.

-5MT X (non-LSD), uses:

Differential assembly-rear 1
27011AA343
4.111
'03, December — '05, March
4.111
'05, January — '06, March
4.111
'06, February — '07, March
4.111
'07, February — '07, November

-4EAT X (non-LSD), uses:

Differential assembly-rear 1
27011AA413
4.444
'03, December — '05, March
4.444
'05, January — '06, March
4.444
'06, February — '07, March
4.444
'07, February — '07, November

-LLBeans use the same as the XSs.

Note: Manufacturing date can be found on the driver's side between the front and rear doors above the rocker moulding.

So essentially, if I was looking for a replacement rear diff for my 05 4EAT XS built in 12/04, I should be looking for a 5MT XT rear diff. Am I getting this correct?

So...
5MT XT - 4.44 LSD
4EAT XT (MY04/05) - 4.44 LSD
4EAT XT (MY06-08) - 4.11 LSD
5MT XS - 4.11 LSD
4EAT XS - 4.44 LSD
5MT X - 4.11 non-LSD
4EAT X - 4.44 non-LSD
4EAT LL Bean - 4.44 LSD
5MT LL Bean - 4.11 LSD

Can someone chime in on which Legacy rear diffs also work for us? I think the 99-02 Legacies shared our components (shows you how far behind the Legacy family we are!).

The front diffs are different, but all r160's (rear diff) are the same.

I've been trying to confirm the FXT 5 speed final drive recently. Wikipedia seems to think it's 4.111 - List of Subaru transmissions - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

cars101.com seems to think it's 4.444.

My dyno plots make more sense at 4.111, is there any way to confirm this?

Thanks.
You can count how many rotations of the input shaft of the rear diff are required to get 1 full turn of the wheels. All USDM 5mt turbo foresters should be 4.44, 04/05 autos are also 4.44, 06+ autos are 4.11. However the nonturbo models are different iirc.
