If the filter was not a genuine Subaru ATF filter that could be the problem. The subaru filter only filters like 10-15% of the fluid during each pass. Engine filters fit but they tflter 100% on every pass and that drops pressures/flow.
How long and how many miles did you have the car before the transmission problem?
Because the problem continued after changing the fluid and the filter, and because the TCU is telling the ECU to display a code about incorrect gear ratio, the transmission probably needs an internal adjustment or repair.
I would get an opinion from a dealer or transmission specialist.
there's very little "internal adjustment" in our trannies. it's all about learning when you reset TCU, and it doesn't involve throwing out error codes. all it fixes is maybe harsher engagements. repair is the likely route.
The box is coming out at a spesialist shop, it has an internal leak. Very experienced guy drove it, and he has seen it before in other 4EATs. Oh well.. Thanks for all the help and suggestions, guys.
keep us updated, there's always something to learn with these cars :grin2:
what was the leaking part?
