My wife and I are on our 2nd and 3rd foresters, 4th and 5th Subarus. We are very involved in outdoor activities, so the Forester is ideal for us.

our model years...

Wifey has an '08 Forester Sports, 5 speed (she won't drive an auto), 64" roof basket, and a 1" lift in the box ready to install once the polar vortex leaves us alone...
I have an '01 Forester L, auto trans, 2" lift, about to add 225/70r16 AT tires and 1" spacers to clear struts better. I understand I will need to do a little trimming and finessing with a mini-sledge...!
These are our 4th and 5th Subarus - I started with an 01 GL Wagon back in the day, we've had a 98 Outback, and an 07 Forester (which sadly was crunched pretty badly in an accident.

Great years. I love to have a manual transmission but my wife refuses to drive a manual transmission.
