@ScottsSubaru2020 Unlikely as Foresters are rated to tow more than twice that in some countries. But there may be legal and insurance issues if you have an accident while towing it.

My '18 had no issues towing more than that. I believe I was close to or above 3000

Physically it will take that 1600# easily, legally is another question. I personally towed 3300# with my 2001 from Philadelphia, PA to Austin TX. Very slow starting from dead stop. Stopping was not an issue as the trailer had it's own brakes.
