2020 - Aggressive fitment with offset?

Greetings everyone, just looking for some quick direction here. I'm currently running 225/65/17s on a 7.5 wheel with a +40 offset on a 2020 Limited. (enkei xm-6 with Falken Wildpeak AT Trails) I'm on the hunt for a set of wheels with a more aggressive offset but am being flagged at checkout for aggressive fitment. I have the 2 inch lift still in the box from LP that I'll be adding shortly so I'll have a bit of a lift in the future. I was leaning towards the same same 225/65/17 with an 8in wheel with a +30 offset. (Black Rhino Fujis more than likely) paired with Toyo Open Country A/T III. In all honesty the change is mainly for aesthetics.

I don't currently go offroading/overlanding, but live in a city that has treacherous road conditions. Potholes everywhere, nothing level, below sea level, etc... I'm thinking I'll be okay with the lift, but just wanted to get some opinions on what else I might have to think about before making the change.

I appreciate any input! Cheers.

2 in lift but staying with 17s? Wouldn't even waste the money. Downsize to 15 or 16d with beefier/cushier tires. Can be done without a lift.

I agree, I initially wanted to go down to a 15 but 17 is as small as I can go with the 2020 if what I've been reading is correct. I'm more concerned with if I'll run into issues with the +30 offset.
Brake calipers are why you can't go smaller than 17".

+30 offset is going to give those pot hole impacts more leverage on the hub bearings.
Since you are primarily street use, speeds at impact are going to be generally at higher speeds than offroading, unless you are rally racing...

It might have an effect on bearing life, might not.

@Black21Limited,
I thought that was only on the XT models. I might be wrong.
@K675, pushing the wheels further out to gain tire clearance will further increase your risk of wheel bearing issues, axle issues, etc....then add on top of that pot holes, etc.....
Making big changes from the stock offset will change the arc of the wheels/tires when you steer. Stay with the 225/65x17" tires on stock-ish offset and you will be fine. That is a hefty tire size for a Forester for function. You don't have to lift a Forester to do chuckholes. I live in Detroit where we have big potholes and speed humps everywhere in the city.

A lift does not make the wheel wells longer from front to back, and that is where your interference will be. Plus wheel bearing loads, etc.

On ALL SK models due to the brake calipers the smallest you can go is 17"

This.

At this current time, there are no XT trim levels 2019 up.
And chances are pretty good there won't be in North America.

Unless it's something along the same lines of an SRT-D neon....

But that's a whole other topic....
Great information here, I really appreciate it. I think I may just go from +40 to +38, maybe +35 but no more than that since I’m shelling out for the new wheels anyway. Possibly even staying with the +40 and utilizing the 8 in wheel vs the 7.5 I’ve got now. Will update..eventually.:D(y)
@Waxgoat factory Limited comes with an 18x7 with a 48mm offset. Going with a 17x8 and staying with a high offset would be a solid choice. 8 inch wide shows ideal offset to be between +42 and +65.

So you would poke over an inch unless you go with a +40. I hope this helps.

@Discount Tire, this is the exact information I was looking for. I appreciate the time for the response. I ultimately went with +38 (closest to +40 available on the wheel I had my sights on) so I feel a lot better with my decision. Cheers.
