Hi! I am new to the forum. I am deciding on which color combination to get in the 2019 Touring. I am leaning towards the white exterior/saddle brown interior. Thoughts?

So my friend, your going to spend $32,000+ for a new car and your asking strangers their thoughts on colors?
Seriously?
Why do you care if I like white, black, silver or ???

Well my friend, I haven't been able to see the car in person. It is hard to find so I would have to order it. Want to make sure I like the color combination. Didn't think it would be a big deal to ask?

I don’t like the combo. Does that help?

@hartley IMO, the pearl white is not a good fit with the brown, the black is, of course, more suitable and with seat covers, good seat covers with silver inserts, its pretty much perfect. While some people would consider it a boring combination, I bought the car for me and no one else.. Point is, this is my opinion and most likely does not jive with yours.. Do what suits you.

Hello @hartley and welcome to the Forum! It's not a big deal to ask and an entirely appropriate question. We have two cars in the saddle brown - a Pearl White 17 XT Touring and a Horizon Blue 19 Touring. The saddle brown looks great in both and the photos do not do it justice. It adds a richness to the interior of the car that for me, black does not. One small "objective" advantage is it will be incrementally cooler than an equal black interior in the sun. Also, white is the most popular color globally and may give you a slightly higher resale. Here is the 2018 Global Trend data by PPG and Regional Trends:

Personally, that's the color combo I originally wanted. I couldn't find it available in a reasonable distance from me, so I considered other colors. I definitely wanted the saddle leather interior and looking on the lot at the finish of the various paint colors available, I settled on the Crystal Black Silica! It looks great with the saddle brown interior. I've had mine for a little over a week now and I'm loving it. What convinced me to pick the black was how beautiful it looked with all the metal flake in the paint in the sun.

I'm sure you'll love yours in any color combination, but, like I said... I would have picked your combo if it had been on the lot that day.

Let me be the first (or one of the first) to warmly welcome you to the forum. Not everyone is so critical, so don't let this first experience get you down.

It is not a big deal to ask and just ignore "steel city subi" it seems every forum has a troll or just an big orange dipstick!>:)

The brown interior is really rich and adds a lot to the overall look of the vehicle. My friend just bought the green with the brown and it really looks great! The black interior is just too common and takes away from the interior detail. White is a good color on the Forester however here in the North the white color in snowstorms is not such a good choice.

Good luck with your choice!!:wink2:

@habsfan is it safe to assume that only your opinion matters? The brown in my opinion clashes with the white.. Am I a troll as well?
I like the brown interior. I kind of think interior color is for you, exterior is for everybody else. Sort of. White is really common everywhere however oddly enough in the hot L.A. area, black has been a generally popular exterior for a while and now white seems to be coming back. It seems most of the interior choices are a bit jumbled in some way, the blacks are the least so?

If you have to order and wait, get what you want. If you do get a chance, sit in a brown interior vehicle, just to see it but interior/exterior mix is not apparent while in the car driving nor outside the car seeing it drive by. BTW, pretty much any/all of the "color choices" have their fans/detractors. It does seem fairly consistent that a lot of folks wonder what the designers were thinking in at least some ways for all of them. (If I hadn't got the Sport - in dark blue pearl,, I'd likely have the green, fwiw.)

We have had two white OB's with brown interior. A'13 SAP Limited and a '17 Touring. The browns were slightly different. We loved both of them. Interiors were rich and "warm" and got many compliments on how nice they were. There was no black option at the time. I always thought the green paint matched best with the brown. Still do.

We toyed a bit with the '19 Fozzy Touring. Didn't like the lighter brown especially on the dash and center console. Wife said something like "baby poop brown". That might be a little harsh.:) We also looked at the black interior. My impression was Black, Piano Black, Really Black like Black Hole Blackout Black. Not a fan at all. If we were stuck on Touring features we would go with white/brown combo. If you can, sit in both.

I like the white/brown leather in my 2017 so much that I'm replacing it with the same for 2019. I'm told the brown is a tad lighter shade this year. Team it up with some heather berber carpets and you're good to go!.

I saw the 2019 Jasper Green Touring with Saddle Brown seats at the Orlando Auto Show during Thanksgiving. Liked them and ordered the exact color combo on my 2019 Touring.

so many black interiors, like 99% of the foresters at dealer lots are black interiors. I had to order mine. Brown is nice, rich, and add contrast to the black trim. It's really good looking, many people complimented on my car's brown interior they said they've never seen it before, yea because dealer only sells black!

Hi I have 2018 Forester touring, white with brown interior. I love it. The eyesight, adaptive cruise and side/ back up alarms, make life much easier to travel interstates. Mph is not quite as high as my 14 but it only has 12000 miles.

Not the black...

I have the black XT and it looked great, for the first year.. the quality of the paint is not that good. Perhaps not the quality of the paint but how thin the coat is. I am crazy meticulous with my cars and this one lives in the garage and still the smallest imperfections show through. Small scratches and marks continue to plague me. I have owned several black cars in the past and this is by far the worst paint job.

So as good as it looks when new I would not have made the same color choice in retrospect.
