Hey guys, looking into removing the shiny black trim around the fog light bezel and wrapping it.

So I’m wondering if anyone has done this? I am hoping I do not need to remove the whole bumper and remove the entire fog light assembly to get to it. And it’s just something that pops off.

Anyone ever try this before?

I’ve attached a photo of my bezel in case it’s not clear what I’m trying to remove as well.

Thanks.

Removing this piece is necessary to install the fog lights. I did this on my Premium. Not difficult at all. There are several little clips around the perimeter of the plastic that holds it to the bumper. Be cautious, the clips can easily scratch the paint as you remove the part.

Here are the installation instructions for the fog light kit: https://subaruonlineparts.com/docs/H4510SJ000-1.pdf

Would putting blue painters tape on the surrounding paint provide enough protection?

Thanks. I was hoping I didn’t have to remove the whole assembly and that part of the bezel would pop off separately.
