Hi all

I bought my 2019 Forester Sport in the beginning of December, and I think it was a week or two later I noticed a small paint chip on the driver side, behind the back seat door. I don't know how it got there, I can't imagine that I did anything but that hardly matters. It's winter here and I didn't want to try to apply touch up paint without a little more knowledge so I waited until it got warmer. Unfortunately, I'm starting to notice some rust in the area. Wondering what I should do at this point, advice. Thanks in advance.

Buy some ironx and apply to the the rust, then use isopropyl alcohol after rinsing iron x off, prime the paint chip with auto primer and then touch up paint to color match. If you're a major perfectionist you can blob the paint and use langka blob eliminator to make the paint levels flush for a more blended appearance. Follow up with paint sealant.
