You can easily upgrade the wheels. You can even fit wheels from other Subaru models on your Forester, I run BRZ wheels on my Forester. just make sure you get the proper bolt pattern s the 2019 Forester changed to 5x4.5 which is the same as the Outback, Legacy and Ascent.
2019 Base Trim Wheel Upgrade
I just bought a 2019 grey base trim forester. My wife and I were prioritizing safety and car seat capacity as we have a 6 month old to cart around. I would have loved to jump up a few trim levels but finances and the dealers inventory ultimately made the base trim the best option. We love the car despite all of the things it doesn't have constantly reminding me that they are not there. I imagine I'll get over it.
That said I do hope to be able to chip away in minor ways to upgrade where I can. Can anyone comment on whether it is an option to upgrade the wheels to the alloys or other higher trim wheels later on? I'm admittedly a novice with all of this as the Forester is my first vehicle purchase let alone first Subaru. Anywhere else that other users know that upgrades can be made would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The 2015 and newer Legacy and Outback also use 5x114. All previous years were 5x100.just make sure you get the proper bolt pattern s the 2019 Forester changed to 5x4.5 which is the same as the Outback, Legacy and Ascent.
Not sure about the bolt pattern but both the 2019 base Forester and the 2019 Premium Crosstrek have 17" wheels. Saw these for sale over on the Crosstrek forum:

Unfortunately the Crosstrek and Impreza wheels will not fit the 2019+ Forester. They both still use the 5x100 bolt pattern.Not sure about the bolt pattern but both the 2019 base Forester and the 2019 Premium Crosstrek have 17" wheels.
