I'm new to the forum and need to know if anyone with the new 2019 forester has installed the rear bumper protector part number #E771SSJ000 I recently purchased a 2019 Forester Limited and it does not have the back bumper scuff pad/protector so I found the part number above and ordered it. The install should be easy enough with the applied 3m adhesive but it does not seem to fit correctly or flush as it sticks off the back bumper edge about quarter of inch or so and just didn't look quite rite so I didn't stick it down. Has anyone here installed this exact part number to a 2019 Forester and what was your experience??? Thanks in advance for any help.

I installed it on my Sport. Was fairly easy. Just need to make sure it correctly wraps around the bumper before pulling the tape off.

I put that bumper guard on and it went well. The directions to install are found as a free download from subaru tech services.... I think its about 9 pages... and the directions are clear but its easier doing the job than reading all that document ! Its a sequence of removing the adhesive tape protector so your accurate in getting the fit. I have to say mine seemed like a perfect fit from the git go. There is an arrow molded in the protector to help center it with the lock mech.

quick question - how do you get free download from subaru tech info? It asks for a login every time I try to download anything, and an account with them requires a rather pricy subscription

One free place to get the installation docs is from subaruonlineparts. Most (if not all) of the accessory pages include a link to the official Subaru installation documentation.
