When you change the mode on the switch to blow to the different positions, does it always stay blowing at the windshield and feet? If so, it sounds like there is an issue with the mode door actuator. I haven’t had to mess with that yet so I’m not sure where exactly it is or how easy it is to get to. I’m also not sure how comfortable you are with working on your own car.
