I see a fair amount of skepticism here as to whether electronic safety systems work. In May 2018, the IIHS published results of a study of electronic safety systems across numerous vehicles that had them (not just Subaru). Here are a couple of top-line numbers:

- Forward collision warning plus autobrake reduced front-to-rear collisions by an average of 50%
- Rear automatic braking reduced backing crashes by an average of 62%

These are significant reductions. :thumbsup:

I think if you are driving carefully, the electronic systems can be bothersome, but if they save me just once, they will be worthwhile. They'd be even more worthwhile if they saved me while I had eg my family in the car too.
