Hello, picking up a 2018 Forester Touring and would like custom fit, longer & wider mud flaps or splash guards for better protection than O.E.M. Thank you, for any suggestions ! Chuck S.

There are 4 options that I know of for mudguards
1) Subaru OEM - smallest, wraps around the most, most stock appearance. Will integrate best into arch moldings if you choose to add those
2) Weathertech- bigger than Subaru, still stockish looking
3) Rally Armor -really flaps, bigger and wider than OEM, a little flappy
4) Rockblokx- similar in style to Rally Armor- a little boxyer (slightly). made of more rigid material.

Thank you very, much. I did check Weathertech just wish they were a little longer, disappointed on the chipping of dog legs on our 2010 Forester.

i bought the 'generic' rally armor and set the front out a little wider for better protections..

Make yourself a cardboard template and play with positioning.. On the front i was able to use already existing mounting points..

On the rear i had to cut them out a little and was able to use (i think) 2 mounting points - BUT had to add 1 or 2 more..

Lowes hardware section has similar pushpins for mounting..

In the past I have left the O.E.M. shorty guards in place and put a generic flat mud flap in front and screwed them fast with stainless screws and/or plastic push pins.
