Hello everyone,

Just joined this forum. I have a 2017 Forester Touring. I have a few issues that the dealership can’t even figure out. All started happening after I got into an accident, which the body shop ‘fixed’ the damage but still having issues.

1. When I reach inside the driver’s door handle to unlock, it does unlock the door, but makes chirping sounds with hazard lights flashing 5 times instead of the normal 2 times

2. After unlocking, I get in the drivers seat and close the door. Then it makes a long beep sound and shows a warning sign on my dash stating ‘remove keys before exiting’, which is abnormal because I just got into the car to start driving.

3. I got the touring trim with full option and I swear my doors automatically locked when i start driving, but stopped doing it suddenly.

Very frustrated. Please advise. Thank you in advance.

I just tried it and the remove your key sign doesn’t come on when I open the door with the keyfob. It happens only when I unlock it by touching the inside of the door handle. Hopefully you’re on to something!
