I am also due for a new set for wife's 15' Forester. I am looking at the following. But I live close to NYC so snow and rain is an issue for me

General AltiMAX RT43 (H- or V-Speed Rated)
Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus
Yokohama AVID Ascend GT
Vredestein Quatrac 5
BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport (H- or V-Speed Rated)

The list order is my preference + what is the best deal that shows up between May and Sept.

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=GTAS&width=225/&ratio=60&diameter=17&sortCode=49751&autoMake=Subaru&autoModel=Forester&autoModClar=2.5i+Premium&autoYear=2015 This is TireRack's Survey Rating chart. Consumer Report pretty much follows the same.

I just installed BFGoodrich Advantage T/A (H rated) on another vehicle. I will see how they perform but that vehicle is mainly for local errands and Forester is mainly for work+long travels.

If money is tight, General Exclaim HPX tires at Walmart are 'similar' to RT43.

I have the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus on my '09 Outback. They're fine but IIRC, they weren't top-of-category for wet braking. Not a huge issue in SoCal.

Interesting.. The mods think that I was intending to hijack huja's thread, I wasn't. I just posted what I shortlisted and why.
