I’ve got a ’15 XT that’s had issues with blowing smoke out the exhaust during WOT since about 10k miles. I’ve visited the dealer *many* times about this issue, but have repeatedly heard “that’s just how turbo cars are”.
I’m now at 47k and the issue continues to get worse. Previously, if I went WOT I might see some smoke for one or two pulls, then not again for a few weeks. Now a days, when I go WOT, I see a LOT more smoke and it happens fairly consistently.
This sounds like carbon buildup, but would it be consistent with my mileage? Is the solution still a $800 walnut blasting? And when does the cleaning become necessary?
