I wanted to show some pictures of Primitives XV/Forester winch bumper along with the Warn 55s winch. I had a chance to test it out in my driveway today which has about a 10-15% grade. This was a very easy installation and looks clean.

Wow! That's awesome. I did not know they made such a thing.

I think that's something I might have to do if I can find another DGM bumper cover!

How hard was it to install? Is there anything you had to do differently since it was made for the XV?

It was a very simple installation and is a direct fit for the Forester. The hardest part, and the only part you could potentially screw up, is cutting the hold in the bumper cover for the fairlead. Primitive does send alignment pins to mark the failead mounting holes. Once the failead holes are drilled in the bumper cover it's as simple as tracing the fairlead outline onto the bumper cover and cutting it out with a jigsaw. My fit turned out perfectly.

Damn thats nice. Whats the anchoring like on that setup? Looking at the monocock body of the forester gives me hesitation about getting in too deep and winching my car in half from the stock ties.

It replaces the front bumper and uses those 8 large mounting bolts to secure it. I was a little hesitant as well but I used it a couple times on some 4x4 trails in Colorado this October to pull me up some huge steep hills. Everything went well.

To access the clutch. This allows you to freespool it out instead of powering it out. This is much faster.

Dear sir

May I know which hidden winch mount you chosen?
Any more install photo for reference?
