Hi guys,
I was wondering if any of you have ever inspected your timing chain..I never had a car with a timing chain,so I only know about belt/pulleys/pump replacement.
Also, have you ever had problems with it while your oil level was kept in check?
I'm the second owner of a 2013 Forester X with 212,000km.

The timing chain should last the life of the engine and cannot be accessed without removing the cover. And that is an engine out procedure to remove or simply re-seal a leaking timing chain cover

Yes, I understand that I was just curious if anyone had an experience with it. I remember when I was working with my boss on an Audi Q5,the customer had a cracked cover because the chain "jumped" and we had to drop the tranny as the cover was between engine and transmission and it ended up being a $4000 job.

I don't recall any reports here saying that anybody had peeked. We're all crossing our fingers.
