I have a stock 2011 X S3 Automatic Transmission Forrester. (180,000km) just purchased second hand, been used for work transit highway driving.

I want to get this Car ready for Double island point and Fraser Island beach adventures, what do you guys suggest as must have mods for beach driving?
skid plate, winch bar, tow points, do I need to raise it ( 220mm clearance I believe) anything you guys can think of and if you can post the link to the companys ?

Also how does a auto vary on sand with the traction control? Thoughts

@Ballistic G'day & Welcome mate!

Have a read here: Tips for driving in sand...

A lift would be good as the inland track ruts on Fraser Island can get quite deep (from all the "proper 4x4s")
Locally I recommend SubiLiftOz. Definitely a skid plate - there's a guy in the Victorian Subie club who makes an excellent plate. (you can find out more local info on www.offroadsubarus.com)

You will need recovery points; a distribution strap (I use a tree trunk protector); snatch strap; rated D shackles - make sure they fit your recovery points!

You should travel with another vehicle.
