Hey all, I have P0420 coming up so I replaced the cat converter but I'm still getting the code which leads me to believe it's one of two o2 sensors. I found a junkyard near me that has a 2005 Forester, I'm just wondering if I take both o2 sensors off of it, will they fit in my 2001 XT? The place is selling both of them for $20 which is a STEAL if they'll work.

Go to a part store website and put the information in about both cars. See if the part numbers match.

If they do your good. If they do not then no. The parameters may have changed and emission standards between years.

To be clear are we talking a 2001 or a 2011 as stated in headline? Either way a 2001 would be a different gen from the 2005 and has a different engine. The same deal between a 2005 NA and a 2011 XT.
A quick check at RockAuto shows different sensors for each.
