Hi everyone, Just bought our (Wife and I) first Subaru Forester (limited). Like to do my own maintenance where possible. Anyone ever change the interior air filter? Book says to disconnect the strut and pull out the glove box door, but I'm terrified on how hard to pull the door and at what angle. Nothing seems easy anymore but I'm willing to try. Thanks for helping !

I could telll you how to change the 08, but I assume its changed. Check the area in your manual under a/c, ventilation, climate controls, etc. Its buried in there for the 08 anyways.

Thanks for the reply. Book does show the filter and how to get it out. Pulling on the glove box door is my fear---arghh.

I had to pull really hard on mine to get it out, but it came out. There are some posts on the side near the top that also hold it in, you wiggle it a bit to get it out once you get the hinges loose. I would prefer the system my Hondas have used, two screws to have to pull this hard. I have fears of breaking things.
