Hey there,
I recently blew my turbo in my Forester. Upon replacing it I am wanting to check my oil pan and banjo bolts. However, I am not sure of how many bango bolts there are and their locations (pictures would be greatly appreciated :grin2:) =)

Sorry about your turbo, but you may have to look for another cause.

For a 2010 XT, my understanding is that there are no screens inside the banjo bolts related to the turbo. I've got a 2012 and haven't looked for any screens to remove. Ditto for my previous 2006 XT.

I think this was a potential issue for 2005 XTs and earlier years.

Yep! My turbo blew and it was that blocked filtered banjo bolt. I am about to DIY put in the replacement turbo. Are there anymore banjo bolts to check? I've also heard the standard oil filters work up to 14psi but our car needs one that works to 23psi to ensure junk in the oil doesn't blow the turbo now that banjo filter is gone. What is your experience these last 2 years on this?

Been working away on putting new turbo in today. Was very lucky to have a mechanic friend give me a hand. The biggest trick was fitting the large rubber pipe the goes into the main fan first, then wriggling into the drop oil pipe, then lining up the 3 studs. Have the turbo in place & about halfway through putting heatshield back in. Still much to do!
