Bit of a newb to DIY car maintenance.
Looking to replace the stock audio head unit to Kenwood DPX-5100BT. The stock unit still works... but the display has gone blank. It used to come on and off intermittently, but now the display is dead. Thought i'd take the chance to replace it with a newer modern one.
Thought i'd give it a go myself. Saw some videos on how to remove the stock HU.. seems pretty easy.
I guess the hard part is replacing it back with a new unit.
Has anyone done this before with this particular unit? Would you know if this unit is compatible with 2009 Forester X?
Is it simple as just plugging in the existing cables back onto the new unit?
