If the 07 2.5 has AVCS and EL headers for more power, I presume, why is it rated for the same power and torque as the 03 2.5 ? From what I have read they are both rated at 173hp and 165 lb-ft of torque.

Is there a difference in the powerband of the two motors? Or is that all taken care of with the lower gearing in the FX.

Seems a bit fishy to me. I may have something wrong here so please correct any mistakes. If all is correct though what is then the point of the ACVS if it doesn't add more power? Is it just for efficiency? :shrug:

I wouldn't look too far into those numbers. HP and torque numbers are just numbers. Back to back dyno testing would be the only real accurate way to use those numbers in comparison. Gearing, standards, temps all vary. I think even Madison Avenue comes into the play occasionally...

There can be many other reasons to add, change items like that. Tuning, heat, fuel usage, shifting the power band........Plenty of non power adder reasons out there.
