Hi, i dont fill my tank all the way up very often, but noticed today i had some petrol run down the mud guard behind the back wheel, not sure if this is normal I didnt do the thing where you pull the nozzle out a bit and try and get a bit more in

You may have rust in the filler neck - fairly common.

I have had similar experience after a recent fill-up, the pump was an extremely SLOW pump and that's they it never triggered the shut-off. I no longer will go to that filling station again due to lack of maintenance of their pumps.

It might be a problem in the filler neck as @Kevin said, but I'm thinking it more likely that the fuel went out the overflow, which is normal.

I had a similar experience when adding too much fuel from a can, and I had a similar fuel leak to what you described..
The car hasn't leaked fuel since.

IF you have a leaking filler-neck, you likely will also have a Evap CEL (service engine soon). Do you?
