Hello everyone! I have an issue with my car. Its an 2006 Forester (automatic). I saw this leak when I changed my cv boot cover. It is on the right side (passenger) on the back? of engine... I dont know what is the name of this part. At first, there a lot of oil but after cleaning, It seems the leak is starting from this part. It looks like it needs to be tighten but I am not sure (so I didnt do that yet).

@tylenol101 The oil pressure switch on my subaru was BSPT thread - the Japanese NPT. It is a taper thread, so you could tighten it a bit and check later, or take it out, clean it up, and apply pipe dope/tape.

@RyanT Will do that tomorrow since weather is a bit cold today.. Also, is this part the same to that oil pressure switch located in the front//center (below alternator) ?

Thanks for the info everyone :)

Drips are always at a low point so it is good to clean an area around where you first saw the drip. Then you can check for tracking from other possible leak points, after you have again run the motor under load.

I apologize in advance if this is merely acute insight into the obvious.
