They're over extending past the window on the drivers side and they've even scratched the paint off. They're also stopping short of where they should, and if they do go fully down into their resting position, it's with a loud thud.

After a quick google I decided to see if I could tighten the nuts at the base of the wiper blades but they were already on tight, I even tried to loosen them to see if I could re-tighten but they wouldn't budge. The blades themselves are quite wobbly though.

Any ideas on what this could be?
I was thinking the motor but that's bloody pricey, saw some videos where people just replaced a metal bar (with rubber bits, it clips on I guess?) on the whole wiper unit.

I know I probably have to disassemble to find the part numbers but if anyone else knows what the part numbers are that'd be a massive help.

There are plastic joints in the linkages. Those joints loosen and wear over time. Some here have repaired those joints. Others like myself bought new linkages instead.
