Engine is not running when this is happening,, i took a long screw driver as a hearing aid up to my ear ,, and could hear it in central are intake also near Throttle sensor ,, i haven't got to disconnecting the throttle sensor,, any ideas ,, i don't have an alarm.

Could you maybe upload a video? Would be easier to provide an idea of what it could be if we could hear it.

My son't crosstrek does that as well. Apparently, it has a vacuum pump to draw slight a vacuum into the tank when the car isn't running. It eventually stops. I've read it is some sort of diagnotic feature.

It is totally normal, my '05 has done it since I got it in 2011, even when I replaced the throttle body. I think it is the drive by wire throttle powering up.

Okay ,Thats great ,, i am use to my 2001 Forester which doesn't make that noise. Thks again.
