I have an 06 FXT and recently switched out the lower radiator hose. I noticed coolant leaking out of this area (see pic). What exactly am I looking at? does anyone know what the issue is? thanks
that is your thermostat housing. likely the thermostat gasket needs to be replaced or the housing needs to be retightened. your hose there looks like it's bent at a crazy angle.
@truspeed28 The angle of which I took the photo distorted the hose, I think. I didnt get an even cut on the hose when I replaced it so that may have something to do with it as well. either way, I'll take a look when I fix the leak. Thanks for your help!
Yeah, that hose doesn't look right. Very much possible that the tension on that hose caused the seal on the thermostat to break. (I'm not saying the rubber ring is now broken, just that it is no longer sealing properly)
Any chance you might have but the lower hose on backwards?
