I couldn't stand the nasty original shift knob that was way too short because of a new short throw kit. Took forever to finally got the ring off that holds the boot up on the factory knob plug. Gone are the days of unscrew and replace, I guess. I then hacksawed the adapter off the old one and epoxied to the base of the new one. Now I have a 5" tall 1 lb NRG shifter that I can shift with one finger and super fast because its weighted. I think it looks OK. My first Subaru and looking forward to the forum.
