OK...it just can't be this difficult! How do I replace the headlamp bulbs on my '05 Forester? I've got the bulb out of the headlamp but can't get the bulb off the electrical connection. Can anyone help?

The connector has probably melted some... it's very common on the earlier Foresters even with stock wattage bulbs. Have a look here: http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulletin/f85/headlamp-connector-replacement-4258/

'05 Forester H1 or H4 bulb? I don't remember..

H4 is common for the connector to melt as pleiad mentioned. I have had a few H1s that were a bear to get off.

Than I'd go with melted connector housing or corroding connector about to lead to melted connector housing.

Nothing to do but pry it off.
