Hello,
I have an intermitent problem with my 2003 2.0L auto Forester.
Only when climbing hills and under load, I get a sort of growling noise and the performance is down. Also at the same time I get a vibration through the steering wheel and pedals. At first I thought it was the engine, but nothing is showing on diagnostics and all of the plugs are clean. My local garage can duplicate the problem but cannot give me a diagnosis.
On the flat it seems fine and performance is good, its only on hills under acceleration at just about any speed. Also makes no difference if driving straight or turning a bend. It does it in any gear.
Now Im thinking its not the engine but something to do with the drive train.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Many thanks
