Was the ac idler pulley bracket updated? The new bracket and pulley doesn’t look the same. I broke the bracket yesterday trying to fix it. Thanks

The oem pulley bracket now is different than what was on the 03 XS.

@Theseus161 it's been a lot of years, so they may have made improvements?

I have heard the aftermarket version was better than the factory/OEM.

You could contact my go to parts "wiz" Jackie, she used to be a vendor on the forum.
Her direct number at Annapolis Subaru is (866) 509-3019.
Her e-mail is [email protected]

If you talk with her, tell her Bobby on the Forester forum said "hi"!

Word to the wise. My failed attempt at repairing my 03 XS idler pulley bolt, which was very corroded, happened because I didn’t remove the entire bracket first.

I tried to un screw the long bolt which caused the adjuster to snap. It’s plastic. Now I’m waiting for parts. The old parts were updated but I wonder if I can re use the bracket??
Just add the pulley, adjuster and pulley bolt.

I’ll compare parts. All Subaru parts vendors seem to be swamped with orders right now. I’m going to try a local dealership here.
