Hopefully someone can answer this question. I have been pulling my hair out trying to google an answer and just cant seem to get to the bottom of it. I have a 1999 EJ25 In this image am I missing an threaded insert to a barb that goes to the PCV valve hose or is there are hose that acts like a sleeve that goes around all this? My PCV valve is in my intake manifold. Photo is not min but this is exactly what I have.

Your hose can actually slide over that threaded fitting in the block. I have done it many times. That picture is of the revision where the PCV screws into the block. You said you have the PCV threaded into the intake. I usually buy a new hose since the old ones are hard and brittle, not like rubber anymore.

These are the 2 different ones, you are dealing with. As you can see, the 2nd pic, the PCV is in the block fitting.
You should have had the 1st photo type. But you can slide your PCV hose over the fitting shown in the 2nd pic, or your pic.
