I'm having what seems to be overheating issues with my automatic transmission. It only really happens when I drive long distances and when I really push the car hard.

When it first starts to overheat, it starts to buck going up hills in Drive, but is fine when I shift into 3rd. When it gets really bad, its seems like it is spitting out transmission fluid over the exhaust pipe and causing it to send smoke out. At first I thought that it was because I need transmission fluid, but it got worse so I thought that it over filled it but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

oh also, every time i drive it, it makes a weird whirring type noise, that at first sounded like there was a hose that was leaking air.

Try replacing the trans fluid and identifying the leak. Scorched fluid can cause many issues.
