We just picked up my wife's '19 Forester Touring this week. We got a good dark tint on it, and it seems the auto-dim mirror can't handle it. At noon the rear view looks like night time, and at night headlights right behind us look like a cigarette being smoked in a dark alley. Pressing the green-light button on the mirror made no change at all. Admittedly, we didn't really pay attention to what it looked like before tint when we test drove, and the tint on ours got done before we ever saw the car.

I'd like to see if there's anything that could help or if anyone else has had this problem.

We have the Touring model with factory light tint. No issues at all as the auto dim rear view mirror works perfectly. Not sure how it's suposed to work with very dark tint, ever. I suggest removing the rear window tint or going with a lighter tint.
