It’s common for these engines to burn oil. I try to check the oil level every 500-1000 miles and top off as needed. I did have the valve cover gaskets leak around 60k miles.
You may be able to have an oil consumption test performed to see if yours is eligible for the short block replacement to help remedy the oil consumption. Definitely keep an eye on the oil levels before you do damage to your engine.
