Looking into keeping this '06 X Premium running a while.
Issues with car...
Throws the P0027/8 code(the one for timing advance, if I recall) every once in a while.
Currently has a P0420 that you clear...comes back in 2-3 days.
Timing Belt/water pump done at the dealer(was there for the fuel pump recall anyway) 18 months and 40,000 miles ago.
Changed radiator cause it was leaking across the top.
Now, the front of the motor steams up with a "not always" burnt smell to the antifreeze(could be simply a leaky WP or the head gasket gone)
The muffler has a minute hole, needs replaced/welded up anyway.
Question...
If I do "all of this right" (assuming the worst...needs everything...possible)...once.
Anybody got a clue on how much at a typical non-dealer shop? (keeping in mind, would be willing to "over due it" so there won't be problems for the next 100k)
